If you just need some nice program which can do the things like splitting large files and compiling them through the built in self extractor exe, just get this software and remain happy. You may find other small software's claiming to do this, but we tell you most of them do not work with the efficiency and skill that this one has. If you are splitting files on a hard drive set the mode to Blocked pieces, and first define the default per piece file size in KB's that you want. Also remember to save these settings to save configurations file as default. If you will not take care of the file size to be split the software may just go for very small pieces like 100 KB each in the default mode. Settings in a WinXP style interface are a little confusing but once you master them, you Win?.

This lets you to carry big files from one computer to another or backup some big files on the floppies. Features: Small, fast and easy to use./ Drag'n'Drop interface./ Creates batch file that restores files to normal / Customizable output files size / Able to clear floppy disk before writing. [Software Review: Nonags.com] TrustMeher Comments: To our surprise we tried this little utility and found it to be most admiring tool. It uses the batch processing for "copy this file + copy that file" mode and combines all the pieces of files in to one, and unlike other file splitjoiners, it automatically deletes the earlier small pieces, and also the batch file. So you have a clean new complete file. Just 17 KB. Can you imagine what a wonder??. If you have not downloaded the GSplit then try this one first. When you split the files it automatically creates a self extracting bat file to combine all the pieces.
SIMPLE FILE SPLITTER.  
Homepage | Download | Freeware : Size 156 KB Simple File Splitter divides a large file into a number of segments to allow for easy transfer over low-capacity media devices (like Zip drives or CD-ROM discs) or uploading to online services, like a news server.. The resultant set of files have extensions that are sequentially numbered; these files can used to reconstruct the original file using file joiner applications, like Simple File Joiner.
SIMPLE FILE JOINER 
Homepage | Download | Freeware : Size 168 KB Although this section is about File Splitters but we could not resist to mention about this wonderful small utility to join large files. This is particularly very useful in joining large media file like mpg, mpeg etc or mp3 files. Just show the files you want to join and click join. Problems: You need to give the file extension along with the Save file name, or the saved file will be without proper file extension. And also some file like avi etc can not be joined which have separate header information. Refer to the authors website for details.
